Aspen, Colorado, 1976, a research facility in one of the mountains has uncovered a special type of energy that imbue items with some sort of weird power that changes people's personality and even grants them special abilities. This went unnoticed since they were celebrating the 100 years of statehood. Yet the US government was kept on alert to see what this new energy could promise, be it a weapon or a source of clean electricity. In the next year the children of the scientist that were exposed to the energy started to be attuned to some items that their parents had brought home. It was concerning to the 1 and 2 year olds were developing this affinity. Thus the government had to step in they decided that these object needed further study.
AEGIS founded in 1978 after the mapping of the mountains of Colorado. They have base in one of the mountains which is covered by fake snow and rocks so they aren't that known. This secret organization is in the look out for these items that seem to have been distributed all over the Colorado area. They have found that these items seem to be only affecting youngsters that are about the age 5 or lower. They pose as surveyors and census workers. They have notable uniforms, that are black coats with a pink bow tie.
In Clearvale Margaret Sinew was studying the lake water. She noted that there was something strange happening in the Blue Lake. It was separating into hydrogen and oxygen. Her measurements indicated a rise in temperature and even some isotopes of a element that was yet to be discovered. The woman was one of the first one visited by AEGIS. She was recruited but her exposure to radioactivity had her reach an early demise.

The isotopes have vanished mysteriously and the water is no longer radioactive. The government stated that whatever was in the water it was not harmful in anyway. The odd findings of Dr. Sinew were not forgotten just classified. They also added weather change to most of the happening in the lake. They established the station in memory of the scientist that made the discoveries in the lake about the changing weather.
